Recording Projects
From managing music creation to budgeting and staffing needs, Kearns Artist Services has worked on a variety of recording projects for films and soundtracks.
The Aviator
I had the honor of being the Music Production Manager for The Aviator, directed by Martin Scorsese and composed by Howard Shore. For this project we worked with the Flemish Radio Orchestra in Belgium, bringing the Mobile Studio from Abbey Road to record in a rehearsal hall in Leuven, Belgium. Responsibilities including hiring all staff, managing the budget, negotiating contracts with the orchestra and music recording personnel.
The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King
I worked with Howard Shore on the recordings of the third film in the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The music team worked with Mr. Shore to produce and record the score with the London Philharmonic Orchestra for the theatrical release, as well as the Extended DVD release.
Tom and Jerry: A Mousecracker's Tale
On this project for Warner Brother, I was hired to deliver an orchestral recording of 60 minutes of music. The music was arranged from Tchaikovsky's "Nutcracker" ballet as well as original music. Responsibilities included hiring composers, copyists, and click track personnel to record the music for the animation. Consulted with Warner Brother's on hiring the orchestra and Conductor for the recording sessions, as well as coordinated the budget between the pre-production and recording sessions with the Music Director.
