Recording Kearns Artist Services - Past Concert Production

Concert Production

Over the years Kearns Artist Services has been fortunate to work with Academy and Grammy Award winning Composers and some of the most talented artists in their genres. Below are a few of the projects we have worked on.

Out of the Ensemble Cabaret
Kearns Artists Services produced a monthly cabaret series entitled Out of the Ensemble which highlighted the talents of the unsung heroes of Broadway - the member of the Broadway Ensembles. Each month members from Broadway Ensembles stepped "out of the Ensemble and into the spotlight" to have an opportunity to perform songs that they love. The series is currently taking a break, and until we relaunch you can visit our Video archives on YouTube.

The Lord of the Rings Symphony Concerts
Kearns Artist Services worked with composer Howard Shore to create and produce the Lord of the Rings Symphony. This piece, written for symphonic orchestra and choir, has over 220 musicians on stage, including over 100 orchestra and specialty instrumentalists, 120 choir members, and vocal soloists. I was instrumental in coordinating the music team to create the music parts, managed the visual artist who created the imagery for the piece, created the Technical Rider and Production Notes for the Orchestra and Choirs to use for rehearsals, as well as put organized the English Translation of the text used in the piece for the choirs. I also worked with the local orchestras to source the specialty instruments required for the performance. After moving over to CAMI Music as a Producer, I managed the project, and responsibilities included promoting and selling the symphony, hiring and managing the project's personnel (Conductor, Assistant Conductor, Technical Director and Soloists), working with the orchestras and choirs to answer any questions they had about the production, and arranging travel and appearances associated with the performances.

Elisa Wagner/International Creative Productions
Working with Elisa Wagner/International Creative Productions, I have managed tours for internationally touring artists including Jose Carreras, Rolando Villazon with the Bolivar Solists, Dmitri Hvorostovsky & the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Academy Choir of Moscow, Goran Bregovic and the Wedding and Funeral Band, The 5 Browns, DUEL. Responsibilities included work visas, planning travel, promotion, and managing the technical requirements of each performance.

The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring Live to Projection
This unique project brought together the screening of the beloved Peter Jackson film "Fellowship of the Ring" together a live performance of the majestic score composed by Howard Shore and has now been seen worldwide. I worked with composer Howard Shore to recreate the score of the Academy Award winning film score, The Fellowship of the Ring, for orchestras to perform the epic score synchronized to the film. I researched the best technical partners for the project, negotiated the rights agreement with New Line Cinemas for the film usage, created the marketing campaign for the project, and worked with the composer's team to have the scores created in a timely manner.

Live Performances
In 2004 I was fortunate enough to work with Annie Lennox and Howard Shore at the Academy Awards for the performance of "Into the West" on the international telecast. We also attended tapings of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and The Ellen Degeneres Show to promote the song, which won Best Song at that year's awards ceremony.

Seattle Folklore Society
While the President of the Seattle Folklore Society, I produced over 125 concerts in venues ranging from coffeehouses to 1200 seat venues as a volunteer. Artists included Rebecca Riots, Dar Williams, Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell, Cheryl Wheeler, Lynn Miles, Mark Erelli, Erin McKeown, and Kris Delmhorst - among many others. For these concerts I would manage all aspects of the concert, including negotiating artist and venue contracts, hiring technical personnel and arranging volunteers, managing advertising, selling tickets, and running the night of the show. These skills were invaluable to me as a Producer as I managed all aspects of producing a concert.
