About KAS Presents
Robert Kearns began producing events in 1995 through the Seattle Folklore Society. Instead of waiting for artists he wonted to see in concert to get big enough to tour this territory, he became the President of the Seattle Folklore Society and produced over 100 concerts in a six year period as a volunteer, working with performers including Cheryl Wheeler, Dar Williams, John Wesley Harding, Kelly Joe Phelps, Lucy Kaplansky, Richard Shindell, Lynn Miles, Mark Erelli, Kris Delmhorst, and Erin McKeown.
Robert moved to New York in 2002 and began working with Academy & Golden Globe Award Winning Composer Howard Shore as the production manager on the scores "The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King" and "The Aviator". This led to the creation and management of The Lord of the Rings Symphony, which is the most performed new symphonic work of all times. As the Production Manager of the project he worked with the world's most talented orchestras in some of the most world renown venues, including sold out performances at The Royal Albert Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Sydney Opera House, Suntory Hall in Tokyo, and The Tempodrom in Berlin.
Having conquered Middle Earth, Robert felt it was time to move on to a new challenge and became the Production Manager of touring projects in Mexico and South America for International Creative Productions. He toured with artists including Jose Carreras, Rolando Villazon with The Bolivar Soloists, Dmitri Hvorostovsky with the Moscow Chamber Orchestra and Academy Choir and the BBC Radio & Big Band Orchestras, handling all details for the tour itineraries of internationally known orchestras and opera singers.
While managing the international tours, Robert started producing events and concerts in New York, including the acclaimed Out of the Ensemble Cabaret series featuring the outstanding talent from Broadway Ensembles. He produced shows with artists including Joseph Keckler, Obie Award winning John Kelly's "Paved Paradise Redux: The Art of Joni Mitchell", Tom Judson's Canned Ham and events with TWEED Theaterworks including "FOLLY: A Vaudeville for the New Depression" - a fundraiser for God's Love We Deliver, and Fractured Classicks productions with performers including Julie Halston, Steve Hayes, Jay Rogers, David Ilku, Sweetie, Jackie Hoffman, Jodi Lennon, Peter Frechette, David Rackoff, and Greg Walloch.
2011 brought a new direction for Kearns Artist Services when we produced events with Psychic/Medium Chip Coffey, bringing him to New York City for his first pubic Gallery Reading. After these events we decided to start producing events and workshops through our partner company KAS Presents to focus on fostering personal development and growth. We worked with Laura Day, Gahl Sasson and James Wanless on presenting events and workshops.
We are very excited about the future of KAS Presents and would love to hear of opportunities for bringing workshops or events to your area. Please contact us through the Contact Us page with any inquiries you have about our services or workshops we offer.
